The Impact of Wireless Protocols on Emerging Technology

(1/1)

danidah:
Not many would have predicted the birth and development of the ZigBee protocol from the IEEE 802.15.4 wireless protocol.  Research amounting to almost a decade has been dedicated towards the streamlining and nurturing ZigBee with the aim of optimizing performance in wireless sensor networks. The innovation, development and release of commercial wireless networking products have been heavily hinged on the ZigBee standard. ZigBee has blossomed so much such that it practically dictates present and emerging wireless trends.

ZigBee has had far – reaching impact in nearly all industries and sectors. Of worthy note, is the high amount of wireless ZigBee – compliant products being injected into the global market currently. ZigBee is dedicated to facilitation of smart energy production, better healthcare, home and industrial automation, and enhancing present wireless trends. The most sought after ZigBee products are Smart Energy Certified products.  These equipments portray high levels of interoperability, a hitherto rare characteristic in energy artifacts. The primary focus is to control and monitor energy delivery, while also overseeing safe usage and delivery of energy.

ZigBee is enjoying widespread dominance on Wireless solutions, and rave predictions are already in place for IP Smart Object Networks, going into the coming decade. Internetworked devices are expected to overshadow human interaction while scalability will be maximized at the same time. Exponential growth is inevitable as chipset manufacturers and distributors are delivering billions of Chipsets across the world.  This makes ZigBee a conventional technology by all means. Wireless Sensor Networks, WSN, have advanced significantly due to mass production of compliant equipment and services. The volume of chipsets shipped around the world more than doubled in the year 2010. Yet widespread projections still indicate an 800% increase in unit sales in the foreseeable future.

Wireless Sensor Network Technology (WTRS) is has been pivotal in the design and implementation of Wireless Sensor Networks. Geographical placements and vertical markets in target regions will directly influence sales volumes.
